I'm an English teacher at West Hill C.I. in Scarborough, Ontario. I teach grade nine, ten and eleven. As anyone who has ever taught knows, you really never have any downtime as a teacher. I find that I'm always planning lessons, thinking of what I could read that would help me reach the kids or what I could share with them to make them more educated.

Half day today, students, so that the teachers can have professional activity in the afternoon. Classes are 45 minutes long and begin, as usual, at 8:45 sharp with "O Canada" followed by the announcements.
